In the past, patients who had crooked, chipped, or discolored teeth often had to undergo several different lengthy procedures to repair their teeth. Fortunately, they now have the option of simply having porcelain dental veneers applied to the affected teeth, instantly transforming less-than-perfect teeth into a stunning smile.
In order to ensure the perfect fit for the porcelain veneers, Milwaukee-area patients will make three visits to the office of Dr. Hoffmann. First, patients will meet with Dr. Hoffmann for a consultation about porcelain veneers at his Brookfield practice. He will conduct an examination to see if the patient is a good candidate for porcelain veneers, as well as answer any questions about the procedure.
During the second visit, the patient's teeth will be prepared for the porcelain dental veneers. This involves the removal of approximately half a millimeter of enamel from the surface of each tooth that is to receive a dental veneer. Depending on the patient's level of sensitivity, Dr. Hoffmann may apply a local anesthetic to the area for this procedure; however, most patients do not report a great deal of discomfort. At this time a mold of the patient's teeth is made.
At the final visit, which is about two weeks later, Dr. Hoffmann will bond the porcelain veneers to the teeth and cure the bonding cement with a special light. Discolored and crooked teeth are instantly transformed!
